Celebrating Explorers Staff 2024

Committed, patient, service-oriented, fun – these are just a few words that district leaders use to describe our Explorers staff!

At Minnetonka Schools, the Explorers program supports students and their families every day with care before and after school. Our outstanding Explorers staff create an engaging environment where students are able to develop socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. From April 15-19, the District is celebrating MCE Explorers Staff Appreciation Week and the impact these staff members make in our community.

Minnetonka offers both before and after school Explorers for elementary school students, as well as Junior Explorers, which serves as full-time childcare for kids ages 3 to 5. In both programs, staff members are responsible for a wide variety of tasks ranging from organizing group projects and activities, supervising students during indoor and outdoor play time and assisting with meal times.

Recently, a few Explorers students shared some of their favorite memories with their Explorers staff:

  • I like my teachers, and I like coloring and Barbies.
  • I like playing in the Outdoor Learning Center.
  • I get to meet new friends and have fun with new people.
  • My favorite things are gym, recess and snack!
  • We get to go on a lot of field trips.
  • The talent shows at Deephaven Explorers are the best!
  • Family Fun Night @ Clear Springs Explorers!
  • Summer field trips!
  • Walking through the woods behind MCEC.
  • I like going rock hunting with Kathleen.
  • Doing puzzles.
  • Everything!

Thank you for your love for our students, Explorers staff. We love you and are grateful for you!
