The Minnetonka High School Skipperettes Competition Dance Team is a competitive winter sport and is registered with the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL). The Skipperettes perform and compete in high kick and jazz at Lake Conference meets, weekend invitational tournaments and our sections meet. If the team qualifies, we will dance at the MSHSL Dance Team Tournament in February.
Competition Dance tryouts are held in the spring for team placement the following school year. For email updates, join our mailing list!
Practices and Competitions
Competition Dance begins in October and wraps up in February. During the school year, all teams practice Monday-Friday, 3:30-6 p.m. and Saturday mornings at MHS.
One time annual Activities Fee ($75) + team participation fee + uniform fee.
Dancers must be enrolled in grades 7–12 in the fall and meet the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) and Minnetonka School District eligibility requirements.
Lettering requirements are determined by the head coach.
Captains are elected by the team and approved by the coaches. The number of captains selected each year will vary from three to five, depending on size of team and leadership needs for the season.
